Coins & billing

How pay-as-you-go coins work: what actions cost coins, your free balance and how to top up.

CUTL is pay-as-you-go. There is no subscription and no monthly fee. You buy coins and spend them on the work you actually do, mostly cost calculations. When your balance runs low you top it up, and unused coins stay on your account.

What coins are

Coins are the credit you spend inside CUTL. Buy a pack once, then draw it down as you price parts. Nothing renews on its own and nothing expires on a monthly cycle, so a quiet month costs you nothing.

Start free
New accounts begin with 10,000 coins free, roughly 100 calculations. You do not need to enter any payment details to price your first parts.

What uses coins

Coins are spent when CUTL does real processing for you. The main cost is a calculation: analysing a drawing and producing a cost.

ActionCoins
Quick calculation (single part)100 per calculation
Project part calculation100 per part: a 20-part project costs about 2,000
Recalculation after edits100 per calculation
Part split out of a multi-part drawing or PDF20 per extracted part
AI part generation (photo or sketch to DXF)200 per generated part

Everyday setup work does not cost coins. Creating your account, adding machines, materials and cutting modes, browsing your history and downloading quotes are all free. You only spend when you run a calculation or generate a part.

Roughly 100 part calculations from the free balance
The 10,000 free coins cover about 100 part calculations. Note that a multi-part project spends 100 coins per part, so a 10-part project uses about 1,000 coins. It is still plenty to set up your databases, quote real parts and see the numbers before you decide to buy more.

Check your balance

Your current balance is shown in the app at app.cutl.online, in the billing area. From there you can also see your recent transactions, so you can tell exactly what each calculation or top-up cost.

Top up by buying a coin pack

When you want more coins, buy a pack. Packs are one-off purchases: you pay once, the coins land on your balance, and nothing recurs.

Three pack sizes are available:

  • 10,000 coins (about 100 calculations)
  • 50,000 coins (about 500 calculations)
  • 100,000 coins (about 1,000 calculations)
01
Open billing
In the app, go to the billing area and choose Buy coins.
02
Pick a pack
Select the 10,000, 50,000 or 100,000 coin pack.
03
Pay securely
Complete the one-off card payment on the hosted checkout.
04
Coins added
Your balance updates within a few seconds and the coins are ready to use.

Current pack prices are listed on the pricing page.

No subscription
Every pack is pay-as-you-go. There is no plan to cancel and no recurring charge. Buy again only when you want to.

Redeem a promocode

A promocode adds coins straight to your balance. Codes usually come from a partner or a campaign, and each code can be redeemed once per team (in CUTL, coins and billing are shared across your team, not per individual login).

01
Open the coin store
In the app, go to the billing area where you buy coins.
02
Enter the code
Type your promocode into the promocode field.
03
Redeem
Confirm, and the coins are added to your balance immediately.

If a code will not redeem, it has usually already been used on your account, has reached its overall limit, or has passed its expiry date. Check the code with whoever gave it to you.

Using the API

The CUTL API is billed the same way as the app: each call that runs a calculation draws coins from your balance, so a single top-up covers both the web app and your integrations. See the API guide for endpoints and authentication.

Next, head back to Getting started to price your first part, or see Quoting & cost calculation to turn an estimate into a commercial offer.
