Label generator

Print scannable part labels straight from a job: QR code, barcode, thumbnail, job number and cut specs, as job travellers or warehouse and remnant tags.

CUTL prints a scannable label for every part, straight from a job, so parts, remnants and boxes carry their own identity from cut to dispatch. Labels are generated from your own label templates: you choose the size, the layout and what appears on each label, and CUTL fills in the part's data and produces a print-ready PDF.

Label templates

Templates are set up once for your team and reused every time you print. Each template defines three things:

  • Label size, from six presets: A4 sheet of 4 (105 x 148 mm), A4 sheet of 8 (105 x 74 mm), 100 x 50 mm strip, 58 x 60 mm standard, 75 x 120 mm logistics, and 58 x 30 mm mini.
  • Page mode: an A4 sheet of labels for an ordinary office printer, or fit-to-label for a thermal roll printer.
  • Zones: what sits where on the label. A zone can show a property (part name, material, thickness, quantity, project or order code, article number), an image (the part thumbnail), a QR code or a barcode. QR and barcode are optional zones, so a template can carry either, both or neither.

Output is a PDF, so it prints on anything from the office laser printer to a dedicated thermal label printer. No special hardware is required.

What a part label carries

Part values are filled from the part's own record, so the static fields are never re-typed: name, material and thickness, quantity, project and order codes, article number, and the part's thumbnail (the actual shape, recognisable at a glance).

Every code links back
Scanning a part or remnant label opens that record in CUTL, so anyone on the floor can pull up the job, material and cut specs without asking around. Printing labels

Labels come straight from a job or a production shift, so they always match what you are actually cutting:

Open the job or shift
Go to the job, project or production shift whose parts you want to label.

Pick a template and counts
Choose the label template, then set labels per part and the quantity shown per label.

Print the PDF
CUTL lays the labels out for your template's page mode, A4 sheet or thermal roll, ready to print.

Dispatch and shipping labels

A template can also include dispatch fields that are typed in at print time rather than pulled from the part record: recipient name, delivery address, carrier, weight, volume, tracking number, and a free-text line. That turns the same label system into packing and shipping labels for finished orders, with the part data still filled in automatically underneath.

  • Traceable. Each scan links back to the record, so you always know what a part is and where it belongs.
